Self Evaluation & Education -
American Society of Anesthesiologists

Create an enhanced version of the successful self education and assessment program that will play anywhere, anytime, and keep track of course progress as 100 questions are presented covering the most recent developments in the Anesthesiology.

Content is generated by a medical editorial staff and turned over as a word processing file. Use the added features of newer operating systems to add increased visual assets to the experience, larger screen sizes, and faster playback from the CD-ROM based program

Approach

Revise the interface to a 800x600 presentation. Apply styles to question content and discussion presentation that is consistent across Windows and Macintosh based computers.

Redesign the training/education approach to accommodate use of external visual content as part of the presentation display.

Lessons Learned

External text files to reference navigation options were not as difficult as initially expected. Time saved was diverted to preparing additional visual assets using JPEG, GIF, AVI, and QT formats to provide more content within the existing time and budget parameters.
