![]() Recognise the Symptoms
Diagnosis can be taugh2 through literature and published findings of observations. Real time simulation of visual and auditory clues for successful diagnosis is a better method to educate trained professionals. In the context of an annual meeting of these professionals this kiosk provided important information for the diagnosis of mania. ApproachIn conjunction with leading physician experts Goble and Associates, Inc. created three typical patient profiles and worked with professional actors and actress to build these patient profiles. The video was compressed into digital movie format and organized in a touch screen environment. The physician views a presentation, is offered the opportunity to select which traits are revealed in the video, and then offered the opportunity to view comments from a leading investigator in the field. Lessons LearnedThe QuickTime Sorensen compression scheme was an excellent asset choice for the PC based system. In addition a tracking system was designed to record physicians by geographic area. The touch screen format continues to be the preferred format for viewers navigating information in a short period of time. |
